About the Role

This is a direct placement (no temporary staffing) position. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for Plant Construction / Special Mechanical Engineering (m/f/d) with a focus on Oil, Gas, and Chemicals for our client's Nuremberg location.

Our client is a globally active, medium-sized company specializing in the development of industrial furnaces and innovative technical solutions for industrial combustion processes. Their applications range from ceramic and carbon solutions to technologies for lithium-ion batteries and other high-tech sectors. Renowned customers worldwide trust the expertise and experience of this specialized company in special machinery and plant construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead international customer projects.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal departments, and external suppliers.
• Manage all technical, commercial, and contractual aspects of your projects.
• Create project plans, control project key figures, and track project progress.
• Monitor budgets and maintain control over costs, deadlines, and quality.
• Plan, organize, and moderate project meetings.
• Handle personnel deployment planning and daily project coordination, acting as a pragmatic problem-solver ("firefighter") in project operations.
• Coordinate the assembly and commissioning of plants.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in project management.
• Experience in plant construction/special mechanical engineering & Oil, Gas, or Chemicals.
• Proficiency in German and English.

Candidate Profile

• Completed degree in engineering or a successfully completed further training as a technician.
• Several years of relevant project management experience (approx. 6 years or more).
• Ideally, professional experience in plant construction or special mechanical engineering, as well as in the Oil, Gas, or Chemicals industries.
• Interest in expanding and deepening knowledge in hybrid and agile project management.
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
