We are shaping the future of social affairs! As the operational IT service provider for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA), the IT-Systemhaus operates one of the largest IT landscapes in Germany at its main location in Nuremberg/Fürth and at various locations nationwide. With over 100 in-house IT applications, 180,000 networked PC workstations, and the associated infrastructure, we are constantly developing this landscape. You will be employed as an IT specialist under the collective agreement.

The role is located in the central Servicemanagement unit, within the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) department. As an extension of established ITSM structures and processes to other business areas, ESM is of central importance for company-wide service delivery.

With the introduction of a comprehensive Enterprise Service Management Suite based on ServiceNow, we have the strategic platform to map various processes and services centrally and in a standardized manner. Our ESM Center of Excellence (ESM CoE) team ensures that ServiceNow is used optimally within the BA for rapid and sustainable digitalization and automation.

We use the agile working method SCRUM with the agile framework JIRA to develop processes and organize our work independently.

Tasks and Activities

As a Specialist System Engineer, your responsibilities include deriving role-specific tasks from given goals, independently carrying out tasks, and guiding others in the following areas:

• Planning, administration, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructures
• Analysis of system requirements and performance data
• Development, updating, and monitoring of software and hardware
• Identification and resolution of system problems
• Ensuring system availability and security
• Requirements analysis and solution design for implementation in ESM in collaboration with an ESM Solution Architect
• Communication, coordination, and decision-making with all relevant stakeholders

Requirements

• University degree or comparable qualification
• Several years of relevant professional experience
• Or comparable profile

In addition to a structured, analytical approach, the following knowledge is advantageous for performing the role:

• In-depth knowledge in the development and/or operation of software solutions and infrastructures
• In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow
• In-depth knowledge of agile working methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
• Sound knowledge in troubleshooting software solutions and/or infrastructures
• Sound knowledge of programming languages and/or in adapting software solutions and infrastructures
• Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL), especially existing ITSM processes
• Basic knowledge of project management
• English language skills
