Your Role
We are looking for a Director of Operations expert to take ownership of the entire operations function at Carbmee. You will work closely with different internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the team, as well as the company, including People & Culture, Finance, Workplace Management, Legal & Compliance, and Business Operations.

Your tasks
People & Culture
- Lead and scale People & Culture initiatives to support a high-performing and values-driven organization.
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and employee development strategies, strengthening performance management systems to foster growth and transparency.
- Oversee scalable HR processes including compensation frameworks, career progression paths, and employee engagement programs, whilst championing culture-building initiatives across the company.
Finance & Business / Revenue Operations
- Optimize systems and processes across the entire SaaS customer lifecycle to ensure data accuracy.
- Lead financial operations---budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting (with external accountants).
- Track key KPIs aligned with company goals and investor expectations.
- Drive cross-functional efficiency across GTM and back-office teams.
Legal & Compliance
- Manage external counsel and ensure compliance with international laws (labour, data, IP).
- Oversee risk management, contracts, governance, and internal policies.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and support ISO 27001 and other security certifications.
Workplace Management
- Lead hybrid work strategy across Berlin, Munich, and remote teams.
- Manage office infrastructure, IT, tools, and vendor relations.
- Ensure health, safety, and security compliance across all work environments.
Your profile
- Proven experience in an Operations & Strategy senior leadership role within a scale-up B2B SaaS company
- Strong track record of managing different functions from People & Talent, Finance, Business Operations, to Legal and Compliance, and driving company growth in a startup environment
- Deep understanding of complex financial and business levers of the enterprise software company
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at the VP / C-level
- High accountability and deep operational knowledge in managing cross-functional projects, to improve structure, alignment, and processes, and deliver results from day one
- Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to make trade-off decisions and focus on the most critical business drivers
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to dissect complex problems, develop actionable strategies, and support data-driven decision-making at an executive level
- High emotional intelligence and experience mentoring and managing a team, with the ability to articulate a clear vision and strategy for the team and build relationships across the business
- Full business language proficiency in English. Proficiency in the German language is a strong advantage
- Passionate about business sustainability, carbon emissions management, and decarbonisation strategy development in alignment with Carbmee's mission and vision
- Based in Berlin and willing to regularly visit the office, while keeping a remote-friendly workspace and collaborating with remote teams
