Procurement Manager
Comet is seeking a customer- and team-oriented individual for its Plasma Control Technologies division at the Aachen site.

The Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division manufactures specialized components for precise control of plasma processes, used in producing memory chips and touch screens for sensors, smartphones, and tablets. The German PCT site specializes in RF generators.
What You Will Do
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities across all commodities, ensuring alignment with global strategies, compliance with policies, and optimal total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships, conducting regular performance and business reviews to secure supply continuity, improve quality, and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle and material availability, keeping stakeholders informed and proactively mitigating supply risks, including obsolescence.
- Drive project sourcing, BOM costing, and make-or-buy decisions in collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet price, quality, and timeline targets.
- Implement processes and tools that enhance efficiency (e.g., VMI, electronic data exchange), reduce lead times and costs, and strengthen vendor collaboration.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the regional procurement team using defined KPIs (OTD, cost savings, working capital), ensuring strong performance and a robust talent pool.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, materials management, or supply chain operations, including people management.
- Proven expertise in developing commodity and procurement strategies, supported by strong analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities, assess risks, and resolve supply challenges.
- Solid track record in vendor management, negotiation, and contract administration, supported by proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office for procurement and reporting.
- Experience in international, fast-paced business environments with the ability to meet KPI-driven goals.
- Fluent in English, with German skills considered a strong asset.
