Software Engineer
Business Purpose
The Software Engineer is responsible for delivering complete, reliable, and maintainable software solutions. This role is responsible for features or sub-systems, contributes to design and architecture discussions, and ensures code quality through testing and documentation. The Software Engineer collaborates across teams to solve problems with customer value in mind, supporting CPI's commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to support team collaboration and learning
- Diagnose and resolve software issues, applying root cause analysis and performance optimization techniques
- Maintain and evolve technical documentation to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Ensure software complies with security policies and regulatory standards
- Stay ahead of industry trends and proactively recommend tools, frameworks, or practices that enhance team capabilities
Key Interfaces
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement software solutions
- Interface with other developers in an agile team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and system test to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, code and implement new product features and enhancements and fix bugs. High quality and on-time delivery of these is expected.
- Complete unit and developer testing to ensure code is of good quality before handing to QA team.
- Generation of project/product documentation, including design, requirements, specifications, help, design proving and software release documentation.
- Actively log/document all issues encountered and solutions developed in CPI's issue tracking tool, Jira.
- Provide application support to CPI production/test engineering and technical support teams on an as needed basis by interacting/communicating with other departments to help solve their issues.
- Respond to and handle Jira issues/Salesforce cases when assigned by support tools manager.
Required Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of professional software development experience with Cloud Server Development
- Windows .NET application programming
- Proficiency in C#
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Applies well-developed problem-solving skills to independently deliver reliable, scalable solutions
- Communicates effectively across teams
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
Optional Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience with JIRA
- Azure Cloud Experience
- Development of scalable solutions for large-volume data processing
- Use of advanced mathematical algorithms
- Experience with Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines
