Remote Senior Java Developer (m/f/x)

Your Role

• Own critical services - Design and build microservices processing complex payment flows with strict performance requirements
• Influence product direction - Translate business requirements into elegant technical solutions
• Shape architecture - Collaborate on system design for scale, resilience, and security
• Raise the bar - Lead and engage in code reviews, mentor teammates, and champion engineering excellence
• Evaluate technology - Research and integrate tools that improve developer experience and platform capability
• Improve how we work - Teams own their process, not just their code; if something isn't working, you have the authority to change it
• Deliver quality you're proud of - Strong tests, automation, CI/CD, and operational ownership

Your Profile

• Strong production experience with Java and Spring Boot ecosystem (typically 6+ years, but we care more about depth than years)
• Think in distributed systems: you understand CAP theorem trade-offs, eventual consistency, and failure modes
• Solid experience designing RESTful APIs and service boundaries
• Solid proficiency with relational databases and messaging systems
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration
• Clear communication - you explain technical decisions clearly to both engineers and stakeholders
• Bonus points for: Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS experience, performance engineering, practical use of AI developer tools, React or TypeScript frontend skills as well as a background in the financial service industry or in regulated industries
