Junior Backend Developer / Automation Engineer (m/w/d)

About Us

We are an established B2B distributor for computer and server hardware. To continue our growth trajectory, we are fundamentally modernizing our IT landscape. We are moving towards a connected architecture where specialized systems (ERP, Shop, PIM) communicate efficiently.

For this, we are looking for reinforcement for our small development team. You are the operational "doer" who helps us build the bridge between existing systems and our new architecture. Remote work is also possible.

Your Responsibilities

You will work closely with our development team to technically implement integration concepts cleanly.

Workflow Implementation:

You will technically implement defined processes. You will use low-code platforms like n8n and write the necessary "glue code" (e.g., in JavaScript) to make data formats compatible.

Interface Management:

You will connect systems such as our webshop (Magento 2), ERP, PIM, and other systems with each other and with external partners and tools. You will ensure that APIs are addressed correctly and webhooks arrive securely.

Data Migration & Maintenance:

You will actively support the team in introducing new software: You will export data from our legacy systems, prepare it, and ensure a clean import into the new tools.

Operation & Monitoring:

You will keep an eye on our ongoing automations. If a sync falters, you will troubleshoot and fix the problem -- whether in the new workflow or the existing legacy system.

What You Bring

We are looking for a reliable team player with technical understanding who conscientiously completes tasks.

Programming Basics:

You are proficient in a scripting language - preferably JavaScript or Node.js for n8n Functions. Python would be a great bonus.

Interface Knowledge:

You understand how systems communicate. You know what a REST call is, how to use an API key, how webhooks work, etc.

Data Understanding:

You can handle data -- whether in CSV, JSON, or with simple SQL queries in a database.

Willingness to Learn:

You are eager to familiarize yourself with our existing infrastructure while mastering new tools like n8n. You love breaking down complex processes into logical individual steps.

Languages:

Very good German and good English skills.

Desirable (Not Required):

First experience with automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Make). Experience in the e-commerce environment.
