3D Artist / Modeler - Narrative VR

About Daring House

Daring House is seeking a talented 3D Artist / Modeler to join the production team for an upcoming narrative VR project.

• Location: Candidates MUST be current residents of Berlin or Brandenburg. Applications from candidates residing outside this region will not be considered.

The Role

• Your primary mission is to translate artistic vision into clean, functional 3D geometry. You will be responsible for transforming 2D environmental references into 3D backgrounds and creating characters and assets ready for the animation pipeline.
• You will report directly to the Lead Developer. Please note that texturing is handled by a separate artist; this role focuses strictly on modeling, topology, and structural asset preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Environment Modeling: Accurately translate 2D architectural and background references into 3D environments.
• Character & Asset Creation: Build 3D characters and props designed for a 6DOF VR experience.
• Animation Readiness: Ensure all models (especially characters) are created with clean topology suitable for rigging and animation.
• AI-Driven Workflow: Utilize the latest AI technologies and tools to optimize and accelerate the modeling process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Developer to ensure all assets are optimized for real-time performance in Unity.

Technical Requirements

• Software: Expert proficiency in Blender and Unity.
• Modeling Techniques: Mastery of standard industry workflows, including high-poly/low-poly modeling and retopology.
• AI Integration: Proven ability to implement AI tools for asset generation or workflow automation.
• VR Expertise: Experience in creating assets specifically for VR environments.
