About the Role

In the Datacenter & Cloud Solutions (DCS) department, we provide DATEV with the latest IT infrastructure components and platforms, as well as efficient ITSM processes, to continuously, dynamically, and stably create value for the customer. DCS ensures secure, stable, and high-performance operation for a positive customer experience. The DCS portfolio is continuously adapted based on requirements.

As a System Architect, you will focus on the conception, planning, and design of complex IT systems and infrastructures. You will translate DATEV's long-term visions and goals into efficient and scalable technical system architectures. You will act as a bridge builder between technical implementation and business requirements, ensuring that the system architecture supports both current and future needs of DATEV.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for analyzing company-wide requirements and deriving robust, future-oriented system architectures that optimally support business-critical processes and user needs.
• You will conceptualize the overarching system structure, including hardware, software, and network infrastructures, and control the use of suitable modeling tools for transparent visualization of complex relationships.
• You will bear overall responsibility for the integration of all system components and design resilient interfaces and communication architectures that ensure stable operation across system boundaries.
• You will lead cross-functional teams through technical implementation and play a central role in steering the architecture roadmap and prioritizing technical decisions.
• You will establish binding quality standards through the strategic use of test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices – and ensure compliance with relevant standards, security requirements, and best practices.
• You will be responsible for maintaining and further developing comprehensive technical documentation and advise management and business units on technological potentials at eye level, particularly in the context of cloud platforms and innovation strategies.

What We Are Looking For

Required Skills

• Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification with an IT focus, as well as profound, many years of experience as a System Architect in complex and established system landscapes.
• In-depth technical expertise in network architectures, software development, database systems, and modern cloud technologies, which you can apply specifically in conception and implementation.
• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of scalable IT architectures, as well as in managing interdisciplinary projects and teams.
• You analyze complex requirements in a structured manner and develop robust, innovative system solutions with high strategic added value.
• You communicate convincingly, appropriately, and confidently at all levels – including with management and non-technical stakeholders.
• You embrace continuous development, ideally possess relevant architecture certifications, and actively drive technical and personal development through curiosity and teamwork.
