David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a growing international FMCG company to recruit a German-speaking Retail Operations Lead based in Frankfurt. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of retail operations and play a key role in the company's expansion across the German market.
Position: Retail Operations Lead (German)
Location: Frankfurt, Germany (Hybrid/Remote)
Employment type: Permanent
Remuneration: Base salary + Annual Bonus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Take ownership of retail operations across the German market, ensuring efficient day-to-day execution

Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners and key stakeholders
-
Coordinate operational activities across multiple retail accounts and distribution channels
-
Monitor retail performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
-
Support the implementation and optimisation of retail processes and operational standards
-
Work closely with the leadership team to execute the company's growth strategy in Germany
-
Identify operational challenges and implement practical, solution-oriented improvements
-
Prepare reports and provide regular business updates to management
-
Travel periodically to the Netherlands for collaboration, planning and operational alignment
-
Operate independently while taking full ownership of responsibilities and business outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Native-level German and fluent business English, both written and spoken
-
Previous experience in retail operations within the German retail market
-
Experience working with major retail chains such as EDEKA, Rossmann, dm or similar retail networks is highly preferred
-
Strong understanding of retail operations, distribution processes and account coordination
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Excellent organisational and time management skills
-
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
-
Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
-
Commercial awareness and a high level of accountability
-
Willingness to travel to Gouda, Netherlands approximately one to two days per month
-
Previous experience in FMCG is an advantage
-
Experience supporting the launch or growth of a new market or business function is an advantage.
