About this job
The Deutsche Hilfsbund (DEHIB) is building a professional, high-performance volunteer structure that is nationally, digitally, and strategically managed. People, culture, and organizational development are not a side area but a central control function. The Chief People Officer is responsible for the personnel architecture of the association at the C-level and reports directly to the Federal Board.
The goal of the function is to build a resilient system for the recruitment, leadership, development, and retention of voluntarily engaged personalities, as well as to establish a clear, performance-oriented, and value-based organizational culture.
Note: The activity is voluntary, unpaid, and does not establish an employment relationship. It is suitable for various life phases, including alongside employment, and may serve personal and professional development in addition to intrinsic motivation.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for People, Culture, and Organizational Development at the association level
- Strategic development and management of DEHIB's volunteer architecture
- Development of structures for recruiting, selection, appointment, and onboarding
- Conception and development of training and development formats for volunteers
- Definition and enforcement of culture, performance, and integrity standards
- Sparring partner for the Federal Board on all personnel and organizational matters
- Structuring of committees, commissions, and mandate work according to GVP
Qualifications
- Experience in HR, People & Culture, Organizational Development, or Leadership
- Strategic thinking and ability to build sustainable structures
- High degree of personal responsibility, resilience, and perseverance
- Strong intrinsic motivation and understanding of top-level volunteer work
- Reliability, clarity, and implementation strength
- Willingness to take on responsibility, including in development and transition phases
