The Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Search Engine squad. This team delivers projects and features that enable our Product and Business teams to scale business activities with our Carriers and Retailers. In this role, you will manage and lead the team in all people-related matters, as well as engineering delivery and efficiency.
What you will do:
- Manage, lead, and grow Engineering teams (people development, engagement, hiring, etc.).
- Advocate for and drive projects to develop our Tech brand.
- Enhance the quality and stability of our services.
- Establish the Tech organizational structure within the domain, introducing squad leads and defining their general processes and deliveries.
- Plan team resources quarterly according to the roadmap.
- Oversee incident management.
- Take responsibility for architectural design within the domain.
Workplace
We are a remote-first company with globally distributed teams. We also maintain an office at our HQ in Berlin.
Who you are:
- An experienced People leader with a track record of managing backend or cross-functional teams in complex, high-scalability, high-load, low-latency environments.
- Able to understand and review code in Ruby, Python, or Elixir.
- A well-rounded Engineer capable of addressing technical issues directly when needed.
- Extensive experience with microservice architecture, familiar with event-driven approaches and asynchronous communication systems.
- A Tech leader adept at driving projects and developing our Tech brand internally and externally.
- Driven, ambitious, and willing to take a hands-on approach to shaping the future of ground transportation travel.
- Demonstrates ownership and responsibility for your problem space.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
