Element is currently seeking a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) for multiple sales territories across Germany.
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving Element's continued growth in the German market. Join our team and use your expertise to help increase our revenue and expand our presence throughout the region.
This role is responsible for leading business development activities within the mechanical engineering and materials engineering sectors, with a focus on expanding Element's Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services for metallic materials, industrial components, materials, and engineered systems.
The position requires strong commercial skills combined with a solid understanding of engineering standards, materials, manufacturing processes, and applicable regulatory requirements to identify and develop new business opportunities in the mechanical engineering, materials engineering, and metals production industries.
The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with OEMs, industrial companies, engineering firms, manufacturers, and supply chain partners to support product development, qualification, production, and life-cycle programs across the relevant industrial sectors.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for promoting and expanding the following services:
- Mechanical testing of metallic materials and components
- High-temperature, creep, and long-term performance testing
- Fatigue and fracture mechanics testing under industrial operating conditions
- Materials characterization, including metallurgy and microstructural analysis
- Chemical analysis, corrosion testing, and environmental testing
- Coating and surface engineering technologies
- Failure analysis

Responsibilities
Focus on acquiring new customers while managing and growing existing customer accounts.
- Build and expand a strong customer base by executing strategies that increase customer value through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Conduct consultative sales discussions and prepare customer proposals and quotations.
- Analyze market trends and industry information to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions for existing and prospective clients.
- Proactively engage customers on-site to promote and sell complex, technical testing and engineering services.
- Negotiate complex commercial proposals through contract award and closing.
- Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to strengthen Element's position as a market leader within the industry.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales and Technical Support teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Utilize the company's CRM system to ensure standardized sales processes are followed throughout every stage of the sales cycle.
- Represent Element at industry trade shows and exhibitions, and participate in customer audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, technical certification, or equivalent education in an engineering, technical, or business-related field.
- Proven sales experience in an industrial B2B environment.
- Self-motivated, results-driven professional with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned sales territory.
- Strong business acumen with a customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
- Confident professional demeanor with exceptional negotiation skills, a collaborative approach, pragmatic problem-solving abilities, and a strong execution focus.
- Fluent German language skills and good English proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license in accordance with Element's company policies.

Salary Range: €60,000--€80,000
