Working Student (f/m/d) IT Security
About the Role
We at Engel & Völkers are excited to invite you to join our Tech Security Team at our Hamburg Headquarters as a Working Student (f/m/d) in IT Security, working 20 hours per week. Responsibilities:
- Support the Security Operations Center by analyzing and evaluating security-related events in Google Chronicle (SIEM) and assisting in incident identification and assessment.
- Assist in handling IT security incidents, including first-level analysis, coordination, documentation, and tracking in the IT Service Management system.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of detection rules and automated playbooks.
- Help improve internal IT security processes, response workflows, and overall incident management practices.
- Support the maintenance and monitoring of our endpoint protection system and collaborate closely with colleagues to reduce IT security risks.
Requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in either a Bachelors or Masters program in the domain of IT, Computer Science, IT Security, or a related field.
- You have gained initial practical experience in the area of cybersecurity/ IT security.
- You bring a basic understanding of networks, cloud environments, and information security concepts.
- Initial experience with security tools (e.g. SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning) is a plus.
- You are comfortable with an agile working environment and motivated to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Proficient communication skills in English.
