About epilot
epilot is building a SaaS product to sell complex products online, focusing first on solving ecommerce in the rapidly transforming energy market. Our mission: Make selling complex products as easy as selling a pair of shoes online.
As a Software Engineer at epilot, you will be a driving force in shaping this mission. Our unique engineering culture is defined by a few core engineering principles.
Our Engineering Principles
- Freedom and Responsibility: We hire smart people who we can trust. We operate by principles and expect our teams to cultivate a strategic mindset.
- Ownership: You build it, you run it: We subscribe to this core principle of the DevOps movement. There is no dedicated Ops team to whom you can pass on the responsibility to take your code and ensure it runs reliably and scales to customer needs.
- Show, Don't Tell: Deliver working software early and frequently. We believe in the basic Agile principle of "Release early and release often." This approach helps us manage risk and make better decisions by creating fast feedback loops between ourselves and our users.
- API First: Before we write a single line of code, we design the APIs of a service in a way that any other team, whether internal to epilot or external, can use the APIs interface with our service without prior knowledge.
Does this sound like an environment you want to work in? Then you could be the right person to be an engineer at epilot!
Check out our promise to you: promise.epilot.cloud
We "epilots" are a team of experts from the fields of software development, energy management, product management, and sales. In order to bring our solution even faster to the top in the energy world, we are looking for you as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (m/f/d).
What Awaits You
- You'll get familiar with our tech stack, including microfrontends, serverless AWS, and best-in-class developer tooling & automation. More info about our stack: Tech stack (keywords: Typescript, React, Svelte, microfrontends, AWS, serverless, microservices).
- You will be part of an agile, cross-functional team of full-stack, backend, and frontend developers, as well as designers and product managers, who are growing together and helping one another.
- You will participate in exciting and diverse development projects using agile methods, with opportunities for pairing and collaboration.
- You will coach others to learn more, while also constantly learning new technologies yourself.
- In close collaboration with our product management and design teams, you will deliver end-to-end features for our users.
- You will not only help us put our product vision into practice but also play an active role in shaping it. For example, if you have a great idea, you are free to write an RFC (Request for Comment) and take full ownership of the initiative from end-to-end.
What You Bring
- Ideally, you have experience with React or other JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience crafting and implementing RESTful micro-services or GraphQL.

- You are familiar with microservices-based architecture patterns.
- Experience in taking ownership of features, with a team on short and long-running projects.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, XP).
- You resonate with our engineering principles.
- You think like an entrepreneur – you understand our business goals and how your daily decisions influence them.
- You don't see problems as a problem but as a great opportunity for yourself, your team, and epilot.

- You make quick, smart decisions and weigh risks intelligently.
- You are a team player, motivating and inspiring your colleagues.

- Transparency – We maintain a very flat and open corporate culture; everything is visible and open for discussion.
- Regular team events such as carnival, the summer party, Christmas party, company breakfast, and many more opportunities to get to know your co-epilots outside working hours. Our highlight event is our yearly epilot summit in the summer, where you will meet your co-epilots from all over the world.
