YOUR MISSION

As a Working Student Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Operations at ERC System, you will be part of a fast-paced and exciting work environment, where you can directly see the results of your work during flight testing of our prototype aircraft. Throughout your time with us, you will gain hands-on experience in Human Factors and UAS Operations in open and specific category. You will explore novel approaches to operating concepts and support the development of procedures and training solutions for manned and unmanned aviation systems. You will work closely with an experienced team of simulation and system engineers, UAS test pilots, and flight test engineers. You will actively contribute to shaping the future of electrified aviation in Europe. This student position will cover 16 hours/week.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Enrolled student (m/f/d) in aerospace engineering, human factors engineering, or a comparable technical course of study
  • Strong interest in Human-Machine Interfaces and Human Factors in an aviation context
  • Enthusiasm for developing training concepts and conducting training sessions for pilots and ground crew
  • Strong interest in flight operations of both manned and unmanned aircraft systems
  • Previous experience with flight simulator devices and/or as a pilot is a strong asset
  • Enjoyment of clear, structured, and comprehensible technical documentation
  • Analytical mindset, structured working style, and strong communication skills

YOUR TASKS

  • Familiarize yourself with concepts of operations and human factors in the context of unmanned aircraft
  • Plan, prepare, conduct, and evaluate HMI studies with remote pilots and ground crew members using various methods, including engineering simulators and subscale model aircraft
  • Support the development and documentation of operating procedures and checklists
  • Conduct human factors evaluations, including scenario-based assessments and workload assessment.
  • Support the creation of Training Manuals, Operations Manuals, and Maintenance Manuals for electrified aviation solutions for the most critical missions.
