Accountant (m/w/d) -- Hamburg | Hybrid (Tue--Thu On‑Site)

Location: Hamburg (Hybrid: On‑site Tuesday--Thursday)

Employment Type: Vollzeit (40 Stunden / 5‑Tage‑Woche)

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Accountant (m/w/d) to join our Finance team in Hamburg. In this role, you will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and VAT regulations, and support a broad range of financial processes. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting.

Our hybrid working model includes three fixed in‑office days (Tuesday--Thursday) to support collaboration, with remote work flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bank & Treasury Management

  • Manage and reconcile EUR bank accounts and related AR/AP transactions
  • Support customer collection processes, including international requirements

2. E‑Commerce & Payment Reconciliation

  • Oversee reconciliation of online transactions across multiple payment platforms
  • Monitor marketplace activity and ensure accurate financial recording

3. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Process incoming invoices and prepare payment runs
  • Manage dunning workflows for open receivables
  • Handle customer refund transactions in accordance with policy

4. Expense Management

  • Review and process travel expenses and corporate card statements

5. General Accounting & Compliance

  • Support prepaid expense tracking, invoicing workflows, and fixed asset accounting
  • Assist with annual VAT and income tax preparation
  • Handle lease‑related accounting topics
  • Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing activities

6. Cross‑Functional & Backup Support

  • Provide coverage across AR/AP processes when needed
  • Support cash handling and reconciliation duties
  • Offer transactional support to finance colleagues across entities

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in a multi‑currency or multi‑entity environment
  • Solid knowledge of HGB and German VAT regulations
  • Confident working with standard accounting tools and MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
