The Role
The purpose of the Product Manager role at DreamHack is to manage and oversee one or many product or product components of a DreamHack festival. The key objective is to contribute to the overall success of a festival. This role is essential for driving innovation, improving product performance, and managing internal & external stakeholder partnerships while supporting strategic objectives. This includes collaboration with various departments, managing the product lifecycle, and continuously enhancing the experience at our shows through strategic planning, effective communication, and proactive problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Create and communicate the product vision for a specific product or product component of a festival to all stakeholders.
- Lead a workgroup with relevant stakeholders to ensure the product or product component comes to life, including but not limited to:
- Defining the scope of work with event operations & project management teams
- Collaborating with commercial teams to commercialize products & product components
- Liaising with marketing to ensure maximum awareness and conversion to visitors
- Ensure that allocated budget is utilized, planned, and not exceeded.
- Responsible for gathering and prioritizing product requirements and ensuring that the product supports the festival's overall strategy and goals.
- Monitor industry trends & product performance, gather feedback from customers, and make recommendations for ways forward to ensure our festivals are providing the best possible content and experience for our attendees & partners.
- Produce relevant documentation to aid in communication, planning, execution, reporting and repeatability at future festivals.
- Mitigate potential risks, solving problems efficiently, and escalating issues proactively, to ensure the product comes to life.
- Other: Perform other tasks within the scope of the role.
The products or product components for each specific festival are decided together with the relevant Director of Festivals, and is subject to change before and after each festival lifecycle.
Requirements
- Communication: Effective at communicating, able to coordinate with various teams.
- Strategic Planning: Solid experience in project planning and aligning tasks with company objectives. Ready to tackle challenges and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the gaming and/or events industry, proactive in applying industry trends and insights to improve festival outcomes.
- Financial Skills: Competent in managing and overseeing budget aspects of projects, understands financial implications of decisions within the product scope.
- Teamwork: Collaborates effectively to ensure product success, from concept through execution.
- Problem-Solving: Identifies and addresses issues promptly, seeks solutions, and involves the right stakeholders.
Comfortable with Travel is a requirement for this role.
