About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated IT GSC Engineer with a focus on databases to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and supporting our IT landscape within the distribution network. As a key point of contact for internal users, you will handle inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth operation of our energy system applications, particularly the eCount platform utilizing Oracle databases. Your responsibilities will include documenting incidents, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with various teams to implement improvements. This position offers flexibility to work from home or in our office, equipped with a company laptop and mobile device. During the onboarding phase, in-person meetings will be more frequent, transitioning to regular virtual interactions and occasional on-site visits once integrated into the team. The role also involves participating in a structured on-call rotation to guarantee 24/7 system availability, emphasizing the importance of responsiveness and resilience in critical situations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a completed IT apprenticeship or degree with relevant professional experience. You should demonstrate a broad technical understanding, especially in database management and troubleshooting, combined with proactive problem-solving skills. Deep knowledge of Oracle database environments, including SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL tuning (such as analyzing execution plans and optimizing SQL profiles), is essential. Experience with Metering Solutions, particularly Robotron eCount, is highly advantageous. Additionally, you should have a proven track record in handling first and second-level support requests, developing automation scripts using tools like PowerAutomate, and working independently to improve processes. Strong customer service orientation, meticulous work ethic, and the ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients are critical. Fluency in German (minimum C1 level) and good English skills (minimum B2 level) are required, especially for collaborating with international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for internal users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to energy system applications.
  • Document incidents accurately and efficiently, ensuring clear communication and follow-up actions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot IT system disruptions, particularly within Oracle database environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for users to maximize the effective utilization of internal systems.
  • Participate in structured on-call rotations to support 24/7 system availability, especially during critical incidents.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, such as PowerAutomate workflows, to streamline operational processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to database management and energy systems.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
