Junior Controller (Part-time)

Fiksu Ruoka Oy is looking for a Part-time Junior Controller to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a student in the later stages of their studies who wants to gain hands-on experience in finance, analytics, and business operations --- with the goal of transitioning into a full-time role after approximately 12 months.

At Fiksu Ruoka, we sell food and everyday consumer goods through our omnichannel model and work every day to reduce food waste. Finance plays a key role in enabling data-driven decisions across the business --- from sales and inventory to operations and growth.

What you'll be doing?

As a Junior Controller, you'll support the Finance team in day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and analysis. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting monthly closings and core financial processes.
• Monitoring and reconciling sales and inventory data across different sales channels.
• Developing and maintaining weekly and monthly financial reporting.
• Supporting ad hoc analyses for management and other key stakeholders.
• Documenting finance processes, maintaining controls, and helping improve ways of working.
• Contributing to automation and analytics development where relevant.
• Collaborating closely with other teams across the company on finance-related topics.

The role is flexible and evolving --- responsibilities can be adjusted based on your skills, interests, and development over time.

What we are looking for?

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills and an analytical, structured way of working.
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial management, with motivation to deepen your knowledge in practice.
• Interest in developing technical and analytical skills in finance, such as: SQL, BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio), Automations (VBA / Python).
• Ongoing university-level studies in a relevant field (e.g. accounting, finance, economics, or similar), preferably in the later stages of your studies.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and responsible working style.
• Curiosity to understand how the business works behind the numbers.
• Our working language is English, but in this role fluent Finnish will be seen as an asset.
