Company Description

Foreign Trained Lawyers in Germany Network (FTLG) is a vibrant and growing community supporting internationally trained lawyers as they build their careers, networks, and opportunities within the German legal landscape.

We create spaces for learning, mentorship, collaboration, talent development, and meaningful connections across the legal profession.

As a volunteer, you will be part of a mission-driven community shaping a more inclusive, globally minded legal ecosystem. This role is for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Role Description

As a Software Developer Volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting the growth of FTLG's digital presence. Working closely with the team, you will help develop new website pages, implement features, improve functionality, and ensure an engaging user experience as the community continues to expand its programs, events, and initiatives.

You would also lead new projects and recommend practical digital solutions that enhance how we deliver resources and engage our community.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, improving, and maintaining websites while contributing their skills to a purpose-driven community. Your work will directly support FTLG's mission of connecting, empowering, and advancing foreign-trained lawyers in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and update website pages using WordPress
  • Support new website features and functionality
  • Manage plugins, forms, and integrations
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with fellow FTLG team members on design, structure, and user experience
  • Support the overall growth of FTLG's digital platforms

Requirements

  • Experience with WordPress (essential)
  • Familiarity with themes, plugins, and page builders
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, and similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of automation, databases, and basic design skills is a plus
  • Interest in mission-driven or community-focused digital projects

Commitment

Approx. 3--5 hours per week (remote, volunteer role).
