Working Student - Quantitative Support in Energy & Commodity Trading (m/f/d)

Join our team as a Working Student and contribute to enhancing FORRS' quantitative platform for asset optimization in power markets.

Your Challenges

  • Implement and support migration of flexibility optimisation approaches to the production environment.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of trading dashboards in FORRS' execution platform.
  • Work with historical and real-time electricity market data to develop and refine existing forecasting models.
  • Support in the development of alternative approaches to derive the hourly price forward curve for power.
  • Provide quantitative support for research and marketing activities.
  • Documentation.

Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's program in fields such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline.
  • Programming experience in Python (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Pyomo) and familiarity with Git.
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques.
  • Experience with time-series forecasting or machine learning models is a plus.
  • Knowledge of energy systems, electricity markets, or battery technologies is an advantage.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
  • Availability of more than 6 months.
