Your Responsibilities:
Our group, >>Embedded Audio Systems<<, develops device-level test procedures for the MPEG-H 3D Audio codec, enabling immersive 3D sound and interactivity. To guarantee full functionality and interoperability in commercial devices, we have established the MPEG-H trademark program, which includes comprehensive test suites covering test signals, procedures, and equipment. This involves testing device interaction via HDMI, ARC, and eARC, as well as audio-video synchronization. In this role, you will merge scientific work with practical system expertise, directly influencing international industrial products.
Shaping the User Experience:
- Develop tests that significantly impact the end-user experience by ensuring the interoperability and quality of modern audio features.
Maintaining and Expanding Excellence:
- Take ownership of the MPEG-H 3D Audio Trademark Program.
- Develop a deep understanding of the codec and create a comprehensive test suite for verifying and certifying partners' audio codec implementations.
Optimizing and Evolving:
- Extend, optimize, and maintain the existing test suite to keep our certification standards at the forefront of audio technology.
Go-To Expert:
- Serve as the primary internal and external contact for the trademark program, bridging technical expertise with partner collaboration.
Your Profile:
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences, Media Technologies, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash programming.
- Experience with LaTeX and Git.
- Fluent English and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international, multidisciplinary team.
- A passion for music and audio is a plus.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week. The position can be filled part-time, but as close to full-time as possible. Contract: Initially limited to 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Compensation: Based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD).
