PROJECT LOGISTICS SALES MANAGER --- Germany

Top 10 Global Freight Forwarder

The Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a top 10 global freight forwarder --- a business with the scale, infrastructure, and financial stability to back its people properly. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Project Logistics professional to join a high-performing projects team and take on a pure new business development mandate across Germany.

The position is fully signed off and ready to move.

The Role

This is a 100% hunting position. Your focus will be on identifying and winning mid-sized project cargo customers --- not the household-name multinationals, but the kind of shippers where relationships, market knowledge, and initiative win the day.

You'll work export business out of Germany and cross-trade, with a focus on:

  • Machinery, flat-rack, and open-top cargo
  • Part-charter moves up to 30,000 TEU
  • Chinese wind energy companies (a key growth area)
  • French project business
  • SME-level shippers --- transactional, relationship-driven project freight

You'll receive an assigned customer portfolio and be expected to build a clear, structured plan for targeting new accounts. Southern Germany or North Rhine-Westphalia are the primary target regions.

The Team

You'll join a Hamburg-based projects team of 14 --- a well-rounded group from post-Ausbildung talent through to a Senior Project Manager with decades of experience. There's an established book of project customers already in place across four core verticals: infrastructure (the largest), marine logistics, oil & gas, and machinery/industrial equipment.

Why This Company

  • Real infrastructure: Tools, budget, and a global network to execute what you sell --- no firefighting, no agent dependency, no limited internal support.
  • Career pathway: Genuine routes to progression, including international mobility and leadership opportunities.
  • Financial stability: SNCF Group-backed business with long-term security and performance-driven compensation.
  • Flexibility: Wednesday is the all-team office day. Otherwise, salespeople are expected on the road. Home office contract available.

Who They're Looking For

A salesperson with solid project freight experience and a clear understanding of the German market. You don't need to walk in with a book of business --- but you need a network, a methodology, and the drive to build.

Essential:

  • Proven background in project freight sales or operations (ideally both)
  • Strong knowledge of the German freight market
  • Existing network in the project logistics sector
  • Ability to build and present a structured target account plan
  • Experience with OOG, flat-rack, heavy lift, or breakbulk cargo

Beneficial:

  • Operational project logistics background
  • Exposure to Chinese wind energy or European project sectors
  • Cross-trade experience

The Package

  • Base salary: €85,000 -- €95,000 (up to €100,000 for the right profile)
  • Bonus: 20--25% performance-related
  • Company car
  • 30 days annual leave
  • Home office contract possible
