IT System Administrator for Network Infrastructure (m/w/d)
Responsibilities
- Setup, installation, administration, and support of computer workstations, including workstations, operating systems, and application-specific software
- Operation, support, and further development of the local network infrastructure, as well as participation in digitalization and e-government projects (e.g., Behördenpostfach, e-invoices, certificate management)
- Support of quality management in the creation, maintenance, and versioning of controlled documents using appropriate IT and documentation systems
- Administration of Active Directory, including user and rights management, as well as responsibility for data backup and recovery processes
- Technical support and further development of the institute's homepage and connected web services
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of the transition of the existing IT infrastructure (Isolösung Rechtsmedizin) into an RRZE-managed Active Directory environment, including coordination with the data center
- Support and administration of data and database servers, as well as organization and coordination of the procurement and commissioning of required hardware components
- Participation in the conception, implementation, and introduction of a commercial LIMS system as a medium-term replacement for the existing in-house development, including interface and data migration issues
Requirements
Must have:
- Completed vocational training as an IT specialist with experience in IT administration or completed university studies (Bachelor/Diplom [FH]) in computer science or a comparable field
- Knowledge in the administration of Windows server environments and in the support of network infrastructures and associated hardware
- Experience with SQL-based database structures and in the administration of data and/or database servers
- Knowledge in the organization and execution of data backup and recovery processes is desirable
- Experience in the digitalization and IT-supported optimization of administrative processes is an advantage
- Confident use of MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) with experience in creating mail merge and Excel-based documents
- Excellent German skills (min. C1 level) and good English skills (min. B1 level)
- Strong communication skills and service orientation as the first point of contact for employees with IT-related questions
- Structured, careful, and responsible way of working, especially when handling sensitive and protected data
- Solution-oriented action, resilience, and confident handling of challenging situations
