Student assistant - LCA for sustainable energy technologies
Your tasks
Together with members from our team, you will conduct life cycle assessments of different renewable energy technologies (hydrogen production, batteries, solar cells) using OpenLCA and ecoinvent, as well as other databases and literature data. You will integrate the results with innovative tools, such as pyH2A (https://github.com/jschneidewind/pyh2a) to model how the life cycle impacts of those technologies will evolve with technological progress.
Your profile
- Bachelor or Master student in (process/chemical) engineering, sustainability studies, energy systems or a related field
- Proficiency in conducting life cycle assessments
- Preferably experience in working with OpenLCA and ecoinvent
- Preferably experience in modelling energy systems (e.g. hydrogen production, batteries, solar cells etc.)
- Teamwork and communication skills, growth mindset
- Good command of written and spoken English (German proficiency is not required)
- Enrolled at a German university (Bachelor or Master)
