Senior Backend PHP Developer (m/w/d)

Position: Full-time Location: Bremen, Niedersachsen, Hamburg, Hannover, Oldenburg (Germany-wide remote possible, with a 2-week onboarding in Bremen office required)

Gastronovi is looking for a Senior Backend PHP Developer to join their growing team. We are a company that has outgrown its startup phase but retains its ambitious, open, and proactive spirit. With over 150 employees, we help European gastronomy clients by providing software solutions that give them more time for their guests.

Our development team creates proprietary products for our clients, operating a complex and highly available cloud-based IT landscape with over 43,000 active software licenses across Europe. We utilize agile methodologies, emphasizing knowledge transfer and collaboration.

Your Responsibilities

• Further develop the PHP backend of our web applications
• Design and develop new software components
• Integrate external APIs and provide your own
• Maintain our software
• Implement automated software tests
• Conduct code reviews for colleagues
• Integrate your backend features into the existing frontend (depending on your skillset)

Your Profile

• Excellent programming skills with PHP 8
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience with a PHP framework (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, Zend, etc.)
• Proficiency in handling large amounts of data in MySQL databases
• Experience with web APIs (e.g., REST)
• Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and work both independently and as part of a team
• Good German language skills (minimum C1) and English skills
