Job Description

The municipality of Blankenfelde-Mahlow is located in the district of Teltow-Fläming, on the beautiful outskirts of the federal capital Berlin. It is very well connected to the city center by regional and S-Bahn trains, as well as by car. Approximately 29,800 residents live in five districts.

The municipality currently employs around 400 people in the areas of administration, daycare centers, schools, youth facilities, library, and technical services.

We are looking for a Landscape Planner or Landscape Architect (m/f/d) for the area of administrative work in the Municipal Planning Office -- focus on landscape planning, to start as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will develop and implement strategic goals for green infrastructure development within the municipality.
  • You will develop local green infrastructure plans in the context of recreational, play, climate protection, climate adaptation, and biotope functions.
  • You will be responsible for the transformation of open spaces and squares into climate-adapted areas.
  • You will manage complex investments for new and renovated municipal green spaces (content, financial, and temporal aspects).
  • You will be responsible for the object planning for landscape, open space, and green area facilities.
  • You will prepare and evaluate task descriptions for all planning phases according to the Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (HOAI).
  • You will conduct contract negotiations with landscape architecture firms and expert firms from various disciplines.
  • You will monitor the use of budget and, if applicable, funding.
  • You will prepare and evaluate decision proposals for political bodies.

Your Qualifications:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture, Open Space Planning, or a comparable field, or you are a trained administrative assistant with several years of professional experience and proven knowledge in the specified area of responsibility.
  • Ideally, professional experience in the specified area of responsibility (procurement according to HOAI, planning law, and technical regulations, or willingness to familiarize yourself with these areas).
  • Confidence in design and drafting matters.
  • Sound knowledge in the areas of urban ecology, environmental and climate adaptation, and sustainable open space design.
  • Experience in tendering and awarding construction contracts, as well as in construction supervision.
  • Proficient use of modern technology and MS Office, as we work almost exclusively digitally.
  • Very good oral and written communication skills (German language skills at least level C2 -- proof required).
  • Team spirit, enthusiasm, and service orientation.
  • A driver's license.
