About the Role

To further expand our Payroll department and ensure correct, timely, and legally compliant payroll processing, we are strengthening our Finance team. We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Accountant (m/f/d) part-time (20 hours per week) as soon as possible.

The ideal work location is Berlin/Brandenburg. Alternatively, the position is also possible remotely (home office).

In this responsible role, you will be the central point of contact for all payroll-related matters and ensure smooth collaboration between Payroll, HR, and Accounting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independent processing of monthly payroll
  • Maintenance and verification of all payroll-relevant master and transactional data
  • Creation and submission of statutory notifications and certificates (e.g., social security, DEÜV, A1)
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements in wage tax, labor, and social security law
  • Professional evaluation of complex payroll-relevant issues and their audit-proof implementation
  • Coordination with HR and Accounting (e.g., payroll accounts, provisions)
  • Collaboration with tax advisors, authorities, and social security institutions
  • Internal point of contact for all payroll questions and support during audits and examinations
  • Support for the Accounting team and understanding of accounting processes according to HGB

What You Bring

  • Several years of experience in operational payroll processing, ideally in a senior or key user role
  • Commercial apprenticeship or a degree with a focus on Payroll, Accounting, or HR
  • Very good knowledge of wage tax, labor, and social security law
  • Sound practical experience in payroll accounting and a basic understanding of HGB accounting
  • Experience with payroll and HR systems (ideally DATEV and Personio)
  • Very good Excel skills
  • Fluent German, good English skills
  • Structured, meticulous way of working with a high standard of quality
  • High sense of responsibility, discretion, and communication skills
