Backend Software Engineer - Mimir Ingest

The Opportunity:

Grafana Cloud is a composable observability platform integrating metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows customers to use open-source observability software like Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo without the operational overhead. The Databases team manages these telemetry databases (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope) as a hosted service in Grafana Cloud and as on-premise solutions. These are multi-tenant distributed systems built with Go, running on Kubernetes across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

The Mimir squad focuses on the Ingest, Storage, and Query aspects of the Mimir OSS project and Grafana Cloud Metrics. Engineers optimize the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics at scale. Work involves large-scale projects, performance and reliability improvements, code reviews, release management, and on-call duties.
