Job Description
The GTU Geothermie Unterschleißheim AG is a municipal company of the city of Unterschleißheim and a flagship company for municipal environmental and climate protection. Since 2003, as a pioneering project in the district of Munich, we have been supplying large parts of the Unterschleißheim city area with regenerative district heating based on deep geothermal energy.
We are looking for you as a technically competent and dedicated Head (m/f/d) of Operations Coordination and Monitoring in the field of Geothermal Energy and District Heating, full-time (40 hours per week), permanent, starting as soon as possible.
You will be responsible for the technical management of the operational coordination and monitoring of our geothermal and district heating plants, ensuring that our plant infrastructure is operated safely, efficiently, and sustainably. You will work closely with external technical operations management, our service providers, and regulatory authorities. You will maintain an overview of all technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects and act as the central point of contact for the management board and a coordinating interface between operations management, authorities, internal departments, and other stakeholders. As the primary person responsible for operational monitoring, you will have the necessary scope of action to effectively apply your expertise and optimally support our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Monitoring:
- Technical monitoring of geothermal and district heating plants in close cooperation with external operations management (network operation, pumps, heat exchangers, peak load systems).
- Control of the external operator's service delivery regarding availability, efficiency, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
- Monitoring of key operating figures, such as heat losses, efficiency factors, and disruption events.
- Accompanying, documenting, and reviewing maintenance and repair measures.
- Technical acceptance of measures and incident resolution in coordination with technical operations management.
- Participation in asset management and the further development of the long-term plant strategy.
- Commercial and Contractual Tasks:
- Contract management of the operations management contract, including monitoring defined KPIs and SLAs.
- Review and approval of service records, budget planning, and cost developments.
- Participation in investment planning, particularly for renewal and modernization measures.
- Review of operational reports, technical documents, and documentation.
- Interface and Authority Management:
- Availability as the central point of contact for the operations manager and technical service providers.
- Coordination with authorities on mining, water, environmental, and occupational safety issues.
- Participation in audits and network meetings for technical operations management topics.
- Regulatory, Quality, and Sustainability:
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and normative requirements (e.g., EnWG, AVBFernwärmeV, DGUV, WHG, VDI guidelines).
- Support in risk and emergency management as well as occupational safety.
- Process optimization to increase energy efficiency and implement climate protection measures.
Your Profile:
- Successfully completed university degree in Supply Engineering / Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Engineering (with a focus on Energy), or a comparable field.
- Professional experience in district heating and geothermal energy.
- Experience in technical operations management, plant management, and the operational management of energy facilities.
- Good knowledge of relevant technical regulations and standards.
- High motivation to actively contribute to the municipal heat transition.
- Assertiveness and strong communication skills, as well as a high degree of responsibility.
- Independent and structured way of working.
- IT skills in common MS Office applications and monitoring systems.
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (C1 or higher).
