DDoS & Security Manager - Berlin
Our client is a technology-driven company with a strong focus on security and DDoS protection, currently experiencing significant growth. Over the past two years, the DDoS Defence team has expanded from 4 to 9 people, creating the need for a dedicated Manager DDoS Defence.
This role is management-focused and combines people leadership, technical oversight, and product ownership. You will lead a growing team, own the DDoS defence portfolio end-to-end, and play a key role in shaping the company's in-house DDoS protection product.
The position is based in Berlin or Karlsruhe and follows a hybrid working model with onsite presence required.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the DDoS Defence team (currently ~8 engineers)
- Own and manage the DDoS defence portfolio
- Disciplinary Management for the team
- Lead hiring and team growth
- Act as a key interface between engineering, architecture, product, and senior management
- Drive the development and roadmap of the in-house DDoS protection product
- Provide technical leadership in:
- DDoS mitigation
- Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Traffic scrubbing and defence mechanisms
- Support architectural and strategic security decisions
- Occasional travel as required
Skills/Requirements
- Strong experience in DDoS protection, network security, or large-scale security environments
- Proven people management experience in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of:
- DDoS mitigation strategies
- Web Application Firewalls
- Scrubbing centres / traffic mitigation
- Experience owning or operating security platforms or products
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model (onsite presence required)
