The company is a hidden champion in its product niche, developing, producing, and marketing high-quality products and food solutions in over 30 countries for numerous industries in the health and nutrition sector. Sales are primarily conducted in the B2B segment, with the B2C area currently undergoing significant expansion. In a newly aligned position, we are therefore seeking, on behalf of our client, a dynamic Sales Manager Food (m/f/d) for a permanent full-time role. As a specialist for the food retail sector, this role will support the European sales organization with the goal of tapping into growth potential in retail. In your role, you will be responsible for Sales Development for consumer markets and products, work closely with the European sales, production, product management, and logistics teams, support the development and introduction of new markets, and actively contribute to building a framework for further growth in the retail segment. Our search is aimed at dedicated candidates who already have initial experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Business Development, or Sales Development within the food/FMCG sector. Candidates with a professional background in purchasing are also welcome. A connection to food and an understanding of the needs of the European food retail sector are important.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key retail customers and act as a liaison with the corresponding internal teams.
- Expand business in Europe through national sales teams organized in a matrix structure; travel approx. 15%.
- Evaluate customer needs and develop customized solutions.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms with customers with the aim of increasing revenue.
- Develop and implement customer plans to drive growth.
- Track key performance indicators, prepare reports, and provide insights to management.
- Conduct ongoing competitor and market analysis and derive recommendations for action.
Profile
- Successfully completed studies in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
- At least initial practical experience in purchasing, category management, account management, or business development in the food or FMCG sector; ideally experience in retail or the food retail sector (LEH).
- Strong initiative, excellent communication skills, confident demeanor, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders (networking).
- Negotiation skills combined with strong problem-solving competence and a high degree of customer orientation.
- Excellent ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with CRM systems for managing customer relationships and tracking sales activities.
- Excellent German and fluent English (spoken and written).
