About the Role

As the STB team, we are responsible for the efficient connection of our Lexware Office customers in online collaboration with their tax advisors. Our mission: To transfer accounting data in the correct format at the correct time so that tax advisors can immediately work with it. Your support as a Senior Developer is crucial!

We want to grow and are therefore looking for technically versatile, agile, and AI-enthusiastic developers like you. We have an open corporate culture based on self-organization. This also means that we meet every 6-8 weeks in our beautiful office in Freiburg im Breisgau. Otherwise, we all work flexibly from home.

Responsibilities

  • Together with other members of the Lexware Office team, you will manage software development and be responsible for smooth operation in the cloud.
  • You will approach the implementation of new features with commitment and reliability. You will participate in architectural decisions and drive their implementation independently and self-organized with the team.
  • When problems or obstacles arise, you do not hesitate and act independently or approach a colleague. Since we work interdisciplinarily, we use short paths and direct communication.
  • Together with the Product Owner, UX Designer, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, and other developers, you will form an interdisciplinary team. This also includes close and structured exchange with colleagues from Support to provide efficient assistance to our customers with product problems.

Requirements

  • You have at least five years of professional experience and very good knowledge of Java/SpringBoot and TypeScript, but above all, you enjoy development and conception, both in the backend and frontend.
  • Experience in the area of microservice architecture is also important to us.
  • It would be nice, but not essential, if you are also familiar with React, Docker, AWS, and SQL/NoSQL. Our company continuously explores new possibilities with AI, so you should also be interested in it. We are also supported by AI tools like Copilot during development.
  • As a team, we live agile processes as part of our daily work, specifically for your team primarily the Scrum Events. Therefore, it is important to us that you bring a mindset of teamwork, continuous development, and openness, and ideally have already gained experience in agile teams.
  • Not yet familiar with all technologies? No problem! We are happy to support you with a dedicated onboarding buddy and in your further development.

The Team

Team recruiting for this position is started by our team itself. We look forward to getting to know you and would like to introduce your future colleagues here:

  • Nico, James, Marko & Andreas: From Mac users to Linux fans, our software developers are responsible for the further development and smooth operation of the team's own microservices. Privately, some enjoy trips through the countryside on their mountain bikes, while others like to cook and play pen-and-paper games – whether in Berlin or in the Black Forest.
  • Markus is the Product Owner and tries to find out how Lexware Office can make collaboration between tax advisors and clients even more efficient. Privately, he counts the days even in midsummer until there is finally enough snow for skiing in the Black Forest.
  • Anja is a UX Designer. She combines business requirements with user needs – and translates them in close cooperation with the software developers. Privately, she can usually be found at the playground or in the stable.
  • Michaela, formerly a bookkeeping nerd herself, is a Business Analyst. She checks the functional requirements and ensures that tax and accounting regulations are complied with. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and is interested in nature and animal welfare.
  • Johanna is a sushi-loving coach who expresses her creativity through designing workshops or in photography. As a representative of the Agile Community, she accompanies this recruiting process and, together with a technical buddy, ensures your onboarding.

Application Process

  1. Application: Initial exchange in the Instaffo chat.
  2. Application Check: Several people are involved in the selection process. We gather their feedback and get back to you as soon as possible.
  3. Getting to Know Each Other: It is important to us whether we are a good fit. You will get to know your potentially future team in various interview formats.
  4. Selection: We will discuss the next steps with you transparently. Once we have made a decision, you will hear from us by phone.
  5. Onboarding: From the day you sign your contract, you will receive individual onboarding from us.
