We are looking for a motivated Research Assistant (m/f/d) as an expert in the field of digitalization and circular economy (indicator systems) for the "Digitalization & Circular Economy" transfer hub, effective immediately.

The "Digitalization & Circular Economy in the Prosperkolleg" project serves knowledge and technology transfer for digitalization and circular economy in the northern Ruhr area (https://www.transferhub.nrw). Contribute your skills to enable SMEs from industry, crafts, and other sectors to transform themselves sustainably through digitalization. Through innovative transfer formats using demonstrators, we make the knowledge of Hochschule Ruhr West and Prosperkolleg e.V. practically accessible to our target groups.

The position is also part of the CirPEL project (https://circular-performer.de), which aims to make circular economy accessible to companies and strengthen companies in the region in the race for Triple Zero - Zero Waste, Zero Pollution, Zero Carbon.

The position is assigned to the Computer Science Institute. Together with your colleagues, you will support our employees and the organization in implementing our promise: Never stop growing!

Your Tasks:

  • Research activities aimed at developing suitable indicators in the field of circular economy and preparing existing indicator systems (e.g., Product Carbon Footprint, Sustainability Reporting, Product Life Cycle Management).
  • Analysis of regulatory requirements and existing standards.
  • Technical guidance and exchange with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Creation of scientific publications.
  • Transfer of project results into academic teaching (e.g., in the context of exercises or practical courses).
  • Participation in the public relations of the overall project and communication of the findings to companies.
  • Mediation of content and close exchange with SMEs from the region.
  • Participation in events and knowledge transfer.

Your Profile:

  • Completed scientific university degree (Master's).
  • Technical affinity.
  • Proven expertise from research and/or industry in the field of indicator systems.
  • Experience in scientific work and publishing.
  • Interdisciplinary openness, teamwork skills, strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to represent the transfer hub at internal and external events.
  • Good German language skills (C1 level).
