Head of Project Development - BESS & Solar - Munich (Hybrid)

The Company

A fast-growing Project Developer / IPP focused on utility-scale BESS projects, with 1GW already secured and grid-connected. The business has built an impressive development pipeline of approximately 10GW and is supported by substantial financial backing to accelerate further growth. They operate from three offices across Germany, including a presence in Munich.

The Role

As Director of Project Development, you will lead and expand a high-performing team of project developers, driving a significant existing pipeline through to ready-to-build (RTB) stage.

You will define and execute strategies to originate and advance new projects, while maintaining strong relationships with municipalities, landowners, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 10 project developers, overseeing 200 active projects.
  • Deliver at least 1GW of RTB projects while continuing to scale the pipeline.
  • Work across the full development lifecycle, from land acquisition through to grid connection.
  • Be based anywhere in Germany, with only occasional travel to the head office required.
