Please note that the position is only available for applicants from Germany.
The language requirements for this position are: German - Native level
Ideally, we are currently looking for full-stack developers with a few years of experience in Java and Kotlin. If you have skills in Angular, even better. If not, that's okay too. Much more important is that you understand the mindset that agility is the only right way in a complex environment. If you like comprehensive specifications and want to work waterfall-style, then we unfortunately have no date with each other. Do you want to exchange ideas across team boundaries in our guilds on topics such as security, UI/UX, QA, and architecture? Do you not feel like building the next e-commerce platform to sell more shoes? Has it always annoyed you that cities and municipalities hardly offer digital services and you have to submit everything there multiple times in paper form? Help us with the digital transformation of German authorities. But first things first - we'll revolutionize the youth welfare office first.

- You are part of developing the next generation of software
- You work in an agile SCRUM team with a dedicated Product Owner and Scrum Master, where you can actively shape development

- You and your team work with state-of-the-art tools and various methods and approaches (e.g., Event Storming, ATDD, Cloud-Native Stack, Kubernetes, Docker, Quarkus, etc.)
- We use Fridays for joint further development (Barcamp)
- You are also part of an overarching team in which you actively participate depending on your area of interest (UX, Security, QA)
- We work according to the Test-First approach and, with DevOps experts, also involve operations in development
Anforderungen
- In addition to a completed degree with an IT focus or comparable training, one thing counts above all: your passion for coding
- You enjoy coding in Java/Kotlin
- You are eager for your personal growth
- You bring a truly agile mindset
Team
We are like a "startup department" within a medium-sized company. We are about 60 colleagues in various roles, from junior developers to product owners, scrum masters to architects, and strategic product management. We consistently work with agile methods, such as Scrum, and firmly believe that the path of agility is the right one. Despite all the agility, we try to plan eight weeks into the future. Exactly as far as we can see. Strictly speaking, we work in a scaled Scrum. We place great value on self-responsibility in the teams and want colleagues who think along. We regularly shake up and question the status quo whenever new insights emerge. We call this "Rüttelkultur" (shaking culture). Some say we tick differently and often challenge our own organization internally because of it. For example, we simply order a couch for the teams because we are convinced that feeling comfortable at work is also an important lever for success. During the Corona period, we realized that very many things also work fully remotely. From daily stand-ups to refinements to retrospectives. We use Jira, Confluence, Miro, and many other tools to structure our work. Although we know that almost everything works very well online, we believe that some things work better on-site, in person, or with the whole team. We consciously want to spend time together on-site, not for its own sake, but because we firmly believe that the social aspects, including chance encounters in the hallway or the coffee kitchen, are important for successful collaboration. That's why we all meet on-site on Thursdays, and we all have lunch together at least once a month. Yes, okay, it's usually pizza. :-)
Bewerbungsprozess
-
- Introductory meeting via Zoom
-
- Taster day on-site in Herten (meet the team, technical exchange, etc.)
