Position Overview
The Clinical Product Educator (CPE) is responsible for the technical instruction of our patients on the Omnipod® Insulin Management System. The CPE works primarily from home (or occasionally from a nearby Insulet training center). This position also supports our customer service team in handling customer inquiries. The role can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis. Working hours are to be determined individually and can be flexible.
Responsibilities
- A typical workday usually begins with attending appointments to conduct personal online training sessions for our customers. Your core tasks include the technical instruction and customization of the Omnipod® DASH Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM) as well as upgrades to new Insulet products.
- Scheduling appointments with our patients in a timely manner is also part of your responsibilities. You will receive all relevant information in advance from our customer service colleagues.
- During technical instruction - in person and virtually/online - you will be available to our patients and guide them through every step. After the training, you will document it in writing or digitally in the Insulet customer management system.
- You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of medical-technical contexts and will support our customers in setting up the diabetes management software as well as the settings of the Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM) or continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) systems.
- Our customer service can rely on your support in handling recurring inquiries to optimize pod therapy.
- As a team player, you will work closely with customer and product support, our inside and outside sales teams, the back office, and our Medical Lead.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:
- 2 - 5 years of experience in the field of diabetes
- Training as a Diabetes Educator DDG or Diabetes Assistant DDG is preferred; training as a certified nutritionist is also an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in training and/or treating insulin pump patients or comparable training/experience
- Practical experience or high competence in using modern online communication systems such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or WebEx.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
- Good presentation and moderation skills
- Strong communication skills and openness
- Good planning and organizational skills as well as an independent and flexible way of working
- Experience in the field of medical devices and/or aids and/or previous industry experience (including as a freelance technical trainer) is advantageous
- Good to very good computer/PC skills
- German - fluent in spoken and written
- Good English skills in spoken and written are an advantage
Physical Requirements (if applicable)
- The work location is primarily your own home office (or occasionally a nearby Insulet training center).
- The necessary technical equipment for conducting online training will be provided.
- Business trips to an Insulet training center or for internal meetings may be necessary.
