About the Role
This is a fully remote position based in Germany, requiring fluent English (German language skills are not necessary). The company offers a competitive salary, bonus, and 30 days of paid holiday.
I am working with a globally leading industrial and manufacturing company that is experiencing significant growth and is looking to expand its team by hiring a Full Stack Developer with OCIT experience. This organization has approximately 5,000 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data-driven full-stack solutions for urban and interurban traffic management systems.
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable microservices for safety-critical traffic applications.
- Implement and support OCIT interfaces, along with other relevant traffic standards, within existing system environments.
- Integrate third-party systems and subsystems using standardized APIs and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and project partners to analyze and translate business and technical requirements.
- Support and enhance DevOps processes, including automated deployments, system monitoring, and incident/problem management.
- Ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous evolution of existing solutions through sustainable lifecycle management.
- Actively contribute to improving development workflows, operational efficiency, and quality standards within agile teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with OCIT interfaces or familiarity with Datex II standards.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Working knowledge of Python and JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
- Practical experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as real-time data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Flink, or similar technologies).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Nexus) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is advantageous.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS (experience with Azure or GCP is a plus).
- Solid understanding of software quality practices, including automated testing, code reviews, and security principles.
