We are partnering with a confidential aerospace innovator at the forefront of next-generation aircraft development to appoint a Senior Stress Certification Engineer with a focus on composite materials.
This position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the certification strategy for a cutting-edge, clean-sheet aircraft programme within the advanced air mobility space.
This is not a traditional hands-on stress analysis position. Instead, the role is designed for a senior technical authority who can provide leadership across composite structures , certification strategy , and structural substantiation.
You will guide and influence engineering and certification teams, ensuring robust compliance approaches and supporting certification activities from concept through to approval.
Key Requirements:
- 9 years' experience working with composite materials within aerospace (structures, stress, or design)
- 5 years' experience in aircraft certification activities within EASA/FAA regulatory frameworks
- Strong expertise in composite structural behaviour, including failure modes and substantiation methods
- Proven experience supporting certification programmes (e.g. Part 23, Part 25, CS-23, SC-VTOL or equivalent)
- Solid background in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) and static analysis principles
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across composite structures and certification strategy
- Support airframe design and construction activities from a certification standpoint
- Define and oversee structural substantiation methodologies
- Guide static analysis and Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) activities
- Lead input into certification planning and compliance execution
- Collaborate closely with senior engineering, airworthiness, and programme leadership
