Overview
This newly created position is pivotal in supporting our Client's expansion of its R&D activities. As R&D Project Manager, you will lead key projects from conception through to execution, ensuring the timely development of innovative energy storage solutions. Your strategic input will directly influence the realisation of products that advance renewable energy utilisation. This role offers an inspiring chance to work on impactful projects within a collaborative team committed to transforming the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of R&D projects, ensuring objectives are met on time and within scope
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and testing engineers, to deliver project milestones
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders
- Prioritise development tasks and allocate internal resources effectively to meet critical deadlines
- Ensure the clear capture and translation of technical requirements into actionable specifications
- Facilitate communication between teams to align project goals and deliverable expectations
- Track project risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on course
- Promote agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, to optimise project workflows
- Support continuous improvement in project processes and documentation for transparency and efficiency
Essential Skills & Experience
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects within the energy, electronics, or comparable industry
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Excel)
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum and Kanban, in a technical environment
- Demonstrated ability to work systematically, organise tasks efficiently, and maintain a self-starting work ethic
- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- A strong sense of responsibility and problem-solving capability
Desirable Attributes
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., Scrum Master) or equivalent qualification
- Experience managing interdisciplinary technical projects involving hardware and software components
- Familiarity with open-source energy management systems or real-time energy data analytics
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
