As cybercrime and large-scale DDoS attacks rise, our defense services are crucial for protecting IONOS and its customers from various internet threats, including attacks and data theft. We operate a global network of scrubbing centers with terabit-level attack filtering capacity and leverage our own global internet backbone with distributed security platforms.

Tasks

• Lead the future of IONOS's defense portfolio: Own the vision and roadmap for our defense services.
• Lead an international, distributed team: Manage highly skilled security experts and collaborate with network engineers, architects, information security, cloud teams, software development, and sales.
• Define and execute strategy: Develop and implement the roadmap for DDoS defense, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) capabilities in partnership with senior leadership.
• Drive innovation: Create product requirements, lead strategic initiatives, and guide the team in delivering innovative solutions.
• Customer onboarding and success: Partner with professional services and pre-sales teams to onboard new tenants and enterprise customers, ensuring successful implementation and delivery.
• Service level management: Establish and own service levels and KPIs (e.g., availability targets, mean time to detect/mitigate, false-positive rates) and publish regular DDoS threat and trend reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or comparable education.
• A strong interest in security topics.
• Experience:
  • 5 years of professional experience in network security (security architect, solutions architect, product management, or professional services engineer).
  • 2 years of leadership experience with strong team management skills, preferably in international environments.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Comprehensive expertise and proven hands-on experience with on-premise and cloud DDoS solutions.
  • Knowledge of web application protection, packet inspection, and hardware offloading is desirable.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives, engineers, stakeholders, and customers.
• Project Management: Proven project management experience.
• Standards: Understanding of key standards such as ISO 27001, BSI C5, and NIS2 is preferred.
• Mindset: Strategic and proactive, with the ability to think ahead and act fast.

Language: English required, German is a plus. Location: Berlin or Karlsruhe.
