We are looking for a Senior Professional System Engineer (w/m/d) with a focus on ABAP Development for our locations in Nuremberg/Fürth, Berlin, Chemnitz, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Krefeld, Lübeck, Mainz.

Work Environment:
You will be employed as an IT Engineer within the IT System House under the collective agreement.
Possible work locations for this opening are: Nuremberg/Fürth, Berlin, Chemnitz, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Krefeld, Lübeck, Mainz. Please indicate your preferred work location(s) in your application.
You will become part of the Logistics Products unit within the ERP department of the IT System House. We operate one of the largest integrated ERP systems in the public sector. Your new team is responsible for the technical and functional support, maintenance, and regular functional and technical development of the IT procedures in this area.
Our procedures support the core processes of our own employees, particularly in procurement, inventory management, real estate management, IT steering processes, and project management. We utilize both standard software products (e.g., SAP) and in-house developments.

Tasks and Activities:
The EFA (Electronic Facility and Asset Management) IT procedure ensures a holistic IT solution to support the BA's infrastructure management. The procedure provides a comprehensive view of the BA's real estate portfolio (owned and leased properties) with building-related, control-relevant information as a basis for strategic and operational management of the BA's real estate.
The operational management of EFA includes the functional and technical operation of SAP modules RE-FX and PS, numerous interfaces, and a VE-Link server (technical operation and support of the application), as well as technical and functional development due to manufacturer updates or new technologies (conversion to S/4 HANA, implementation of technical improvements and functional requirements regarding module functions).
We are seeking a Senior Professional System Engineer with a focus on ABAP Development to design, develop, and test the IT procedure according to the requirements of the client and users. You will work in an interdisciplinary team to ensure software quality and reliability. You will also collaborate closely with clients, users, and interface partners. The team organizes its tasks based on Scrum and SAFe (agile software development methodologies).
Your future responsibilities will primarily include the independent execution of the following tasks and guiding others:
- Planning, administration, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructures: specifically related to the SAP system (modules RE-FX and PS).
- Analysis of system requirements and performance data.
- Development, customizing, testing, updating, and monitoring of software, as well as updating and monitoring hardware (so-called Early-Morning Checks).
- Identification and resolution of system problems.
- Ensuring system availability and security.
- Implementing manufacturer notes for error correction (so-called OSS messages).
- Concept, implementation, testing, and documentation of enhancements (customer-specific developments: BADIs, Enhancements, User Exits, Reports) for the ERP system.
Qualifications:
- University degree or comparable qualification (preferred fields: Computer Science, Business Informatics).
- Several years of relevant professional experience.
- Or a comparable profile.
You will further impress us with:
- In-depth knowledge in the development/customizing and/or operation of software solutions and infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge in troubleshooting software solutions and/or infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge of the ABAP programming language and in customizing software solutions and infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge of the following tools and technologies:
- Web Technology/XML
- Portal and FIORI Technology
- ABAP (Basics, Dialog Programming, List Processing), ABAP OO, ABAP Unit Tests
- SAP ABAP Workbench, ABAP Web Dynpro and Dictionary, and SAP Interfaces
- SAP EP/Integration of Non-SAP Sources
- SAP Forms (Adobe, Smartforms)
- SAP Basis Products (e.g., SolMan, Interfaces, SAP GUI, etc.)
- REST Services
- UI5 Frontend Development, PO/Interface Development,
- AIF Interface Development, Configuration, and Monitoring, SoapUI
- CDS Views
- Basic knowledge of S/4 HANA.
- Basic knowledge of SAP RE-FX and PS.
Additionally, the following skills will help you succeed in your new role:
- Basic knowledge of Scrum and SAFe.
- Basic knowledge of financial processes and budget management (SAP FI, PSM, PSCD), budget release, account assignment, etc.
- Basic knowledge of using JIRA and Confluence ticket and steering systems.
- Basic knowledge of real estate management.
- A high degree of self-organization and personal responsibility.
- Very good communication and teamwork skills.
