JD Ross Energy is partnering with a fast‑growing renewable energy developer backed by a well‑established European group, as they look to appoint a Grid Connections Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of onshore wind, solar and multi‑technology energy park developments across Germany.
Our client is backed by a large investment bank who are actively involved in the early‑stage development, delivery and implementation of renewable generation and associated grid infrastructure. With access to a significant pipeline of suitable land and a strong focus on bringing more of the value chain in‑house, they are entering an exciting phase of growth and expansion.
Projects range from standalone generation assets through to complex grid connection solutions requiring close coordination with network operators and technical partners.
This role would suit an Mid-level Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technically and commercially critical workstreams. The position offers influence over how grid connection concepts are shaped for HV/MV renewable projects, working closely with local grid operators (DSOs) for given regions/
Requirements:
In addition to a degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- A minimum of 2 years electrical engineering experience for renewable energy projects
- Familiarity with SLDs for HV/MV electrical projects, using AutoCAD
- A basic understanding of German grid codes, technical standards and regulatory frameworks, with the confidence to apply them pragmatically on live projects
- Proven experience working directly with distribution and transmission network operators, including negotiations around connection points and technical requirements
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage external engineering partners, consultants and contractors
- Clear and confident communication skills, with fluency in English and German and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
This is an opportunity to join an organisation that combines the agility of a start‑up with the backing and stability of an established group. You'll have the chance to shape processes, influence strategy and play a visible role in delivering projects that directly support the energy transition, all while benefiting from flexible working, long‑term development prospects and a genuinely collaborative culture.
Apply now to be considered for this opportunity and to take the next step in your career within Germany's renewable energy sector.
