About this job

Your potential new employer is an established consulting and systems house for medium-sized companies, focusing on efficiency and improvement processes along the value chain according to Lean principles. For 15 years, with 40 employees, they have been offering consulting in the areas of planning, process optimization, and ERP for the manufacturing, trade, and logistics service industries. Due to increased project requests, they have asked me to fill two newly created positions: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Junior/Senior) Developer, as well as Project Manager/Team Manager (m/f/d) at their branch near Meppen (easily accessible from the directions of Osnabrück, Münster, and Vechta). Working from home up to 4 days a week is also possible.

The company currently has numerous migration projects from Dynamics NAV to BC, as well as pure Dynamics 365 Business Central projects. The versions range from NAV2018 to the current BC versions in SaaS, with a focus on the Finance/Controlling modules. Coordination regarding requirements and task distribution takes place within the existing team of 8 BC developers and 12 consultants. There are numerous opportunities for advancement if the respective employee shows interest and potential. The reporting line goes to the sought-after Team Manager, who in turn reports to management.

Your tasks as an Application Developer include:

  • Team Leadership and Coaching: Guiding and mentoring developers, establishing best practices, resource planning, and timely and budget-compliant delivery of project results.
  • Development and Optimization: Conception, further development, and customization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions (AL objects, extensions, UI/AL development), including individual customer requirements (customizing).
  • Process Analysis and Solution Design: Investigation of business processes in the areas of finance, logistics, sales, production, and service; derivation of technical solution concepts and implementation after analysis.
  • Integration and Data Management: Implementation of interfaces to third-party systems (e.g., CRM, WMS, BI) and execution of data migrations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducting code reviews, developing test strategies (unit tests, integration tests), and optimizing deployment processes.
  • Project and Customer Work: Active participation in new BC customer projects, solution implementation, testing, bug fixing, and contributing creative ideas for process and system improvement.
  • Collaboration: Close coordination with consultants, project managers, architecture, and implementation teams; support of pre-sales activities through the creation of technical concepts and offers.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conducting internal and external training on Dynamics 365 Business Central.

As a Project Manager/Team Leader, your focus will be on:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Technical leadership of Business Central (BC) project teams, consisting of internal project managers, consultants, developers, key users, and stakeholders on the customer side; personnel responsibility and coordination of internal change processes.
  • Project Management: Steering, monitoring, and coordination of all project activities in the BC environment using agile and classic methods; effort estimation and ensuring timely implementation.
  • Customer Consulting and Solution Design: Analysis of business processes, development, and optimization of solutions, considering customer requirements and the company's own business interests.
  • Implementation and Integration: Planning the implementation, configuration, and customization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central; interface coordination with partner solutions.
  • Communication and Workshops: Conducting presentations, workshops, and training at all hierarchical levels, from end-users to management; acting as a liaison between customers and the development department for open communication of requirements.
  • Quality Assurance and Service: Accompanying project go-lives, service management, testing, and continuous process optimization; fostering collaboration within the ERP team.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Regular reporting on project progress in customer meetings and internal reviews.

Your Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed studies in computer science (business or technical) or business administration/programming, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid know-how in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central environment, ERP implementations, business processes, and project business.
  • Several years of leadership experience and willingness to take on team responsibility (mentoring, team coordination).
  • Independent and service-oriented work style with a hands-on mentality.
  • Extroverted and communicative personality with strong social skills for customer interaction.
  • Teamwork ability, assertiveness, and empathy.
  • Business acumen and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Fluent German and basic English skills.
  • As a Developer additionally: Independent experience in programming in AL, Azure, Extensions, databases (SQL), CI/CD processes, and connecting interfaces to external systems (API); ideally Microsoft certifications.

This modern and collegially managed employer prioritizes not only the complete satisfaction of customers but also that of its employees. If personal fulfillment, exciting projects with renowned clients, and ample scope for your own solution strategies are as important to you as an attractive salary (approx. €60,000-€80,000 gross per year for developers and around €80,000-€120,000 for team leaders, depending on professional experience and qualifications), then you will feel right at home in this very family-like work atmosphere with a "du" culture, great collegiality, mutual support through team spirit, working at eye level, and team integration (average age between 30-40 years, onboarding buddy from day 1). In addition to the growth of the developer and consultant team, creative, leading, and independent minds are sought who, thanks to their reliability, can master new, varied challenges every day and want to take on responsibility directly. Work is performed in a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday with 30 days of vacation and flexible trust-based working hours. On-site presence would be minimal: at least 1 day/week at the HQ is expected. The rest of the time on customer projects, work can be done virtually or from home. The office offers good public transport connections and is also easily accessible by car (parking available). Benefits of this modern company include team events (e.g., for exchange or a short Friday with a joint lunch), regular internal and external training opportunities (including in 365 BC) and growth prospects, a company mobile phone, company car/bike leasing, company fitness with Wellpass (EGym), emergency childcare, and other corporate benefits.

Are you interested in contributing to exciting projects at this innovative company? Then apply for one of these positions and send me your current CV, stating your salary expectations and notice period. Junior applications are also welcome if they can integrate well into the existing team.
