Engineering Manager -- Build Strong Teams, Not Just Strong Systems

With strong growth and increasing product demand, they're continuing to invest in engineering leadership, creating an environment where teams are empowered, supported, and set up to succeed long term.

The Role

This is a people-first leadership role, where your impact comes through developing others and creating the right environment for teams to thrive.

You won't be measured on how much code you write, but on how effectively your teams operate from engagement and collaboration through to consistent, reliable delivery.

Your responsibilities will span three key areas:

Team & People Development

  • Supporting engineers with growth, feedback, and career progression
  • Building a strong, open team culture where issues are addressed early
  • Acting as a coach, helping individuals navigate challenges and improve

Team Effectiveness & Delivery

  • Ensuring teams are set up to deliver effectively without unnecessary friction
  • Keeping core processes running smoothly (planning, retrospectives, alignment)
  • Spotting early warning signs around delivery or morale and acting on them

Collaboration & Alignment

  • Working across teams to ensure clear communication and shared understanding
  • Supporting Tech Leads by creating clarity around decisions and follow-through
  • Helping connect Engineering with Product and other stakeholders where needed

You'll also contribute beyond your immediate team, helping shape broader engineering practices, onboarding, and ways of working as the organisation grows.

What we're looking for

  • Experience leading engineers in a people-focused Engineering Manager
  • Background working in modern, product-led environments with cross-functional teams
  • Able to engage in technical discussions and understand trade-offs, without needing to be hands-on
  • Strong track record of building healthy, collaborative, and accountable teams
  • Comfortable managing complexity across teams, stakeholders, and priorities
  • Proven experience in being able to challenge, support, and develop people effectively
  • Clear communicator who brings transparency and structure to teams
  • Coaching mindset, focused on enabling others to succeed
