Title: Midlevel Fullstack Engineer
Starting Date: 1st May 2026
Fixed Term: 31st December 2026 (contracts may be extended based on project funding)
Location: Remote (preferably Germany-based)
Language: English (minimum C1), German is a plus
Salary Range: 54.000€ - 60.000€ (1 FTE)
This role cannot be performed under a freelancer agreement.
As our Fullstack Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing our core chat platform. You will work across the entire stack, focusing on delivering robust, user-friendly features with an emphasis on integrating cutting-edge AI technologies to improve our services for children and adolescents in need.
Your Tasks:
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable full-stack features using our core technologies (Next.JS, React, Typescript, Tailwind).
- Design and implement effective API solutions and backend services (e.g., Node.js or Python) to support application performance and functionality.
- Collaborate closely with the development team and product owner to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate and leverage AI models and features into the platform, with a strong focus on responsible implementation concerning user privacy and security.
- Engage in continuous knowledge exchange and perform thorough code reviews to maintain high coding standards and elevate team quality.
- Take ownership of features and projects from conceptualization through to production deployment and monitoring.
Your Profile:
- Computer Science Degree or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience in a Fullstack Engineer role.
- Strong proficiency in our core stack: Next.JS, React, Typescript, Tailwind.
- Solid understanding of API design and backend services (e.g., Node.js or Python).
- Experience building or integrating AI features.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a high sense of ownership.
- Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies, especially AI-related ones.
- High level of autonomy.

Since March 1, 2022, we've also provided confidential crisis counseling for Ukrainians of all ages. Beyond chat counseling, krisenchat reaches millions annually through psychoeducational content on social media.
