Your Responsibilities

  • As an IT Architect with specialized core competencies, you will be part of the IT Architecture team, responsible for designing and optimizing the IT infrastructure and system landscape of the state capital Kiel. You will develop IT architectures, concepts, and standards for Kiel in alignment with the IT strategy and Digital Governance. Your tasks include:
  • Analyzing the existing IT infrastructure and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Creating concepts for the requirements of IT infrastructure and system landscape architectures, involving relevant departments.
  • Planning and implementing measures for modernizing and optimizing the IT infrastructure and system landscape.
  • Managing and monitoring IT projects concerning IT architecture.
  • Ensuring Digital Governance, IT security, and data protection by defining standards and rules for the use of systems and software solutions.
  • Advising and supporting departments and offices.

Your Profile

  • Education: Completed university degree with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters (Bachelor's or FH Diploma) in fields such as:
    • Computer Science
    • Business Informatics
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Information and Communication Technology
    • Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience based on the required education and training, particularly in IT architecture. This role is classified under EG 12 TVöD.
    • Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience based on the required education and training, particularly in IT architecture. This role is classified under EG 13 TVöD.
  • Expertise: Profound knowledge of IT architectures and Enterprise Architecture Management in large organizations or corporations is required. You also need comprehensive knowledge in Integration Management, Software Development, Data Governance, and API Management. Furthermore, extensive knowledge of modern architectural approaches, CI/CD techniques, technology & software architectures, cloud infrastructures, and the implementation of IT security measures in the IT architecture environment (according to BSI Basic Protection) is necessary. Your knowledge must be demonstrable through certificates, further training, references, or manufacturer certifications.
  • You possess strong technical understanding and a desire to take on responsibility. You proactively drive change and contribute new ideas. You see trends and new fields as opportunities to quickly learn and expand your knowledge.
  • You develop practical, innovative, and clearly documented solutions within a team, always keeping the users in mind. Communication, service orientation, and a cool head, even in stressful situations, characterize you.
