The Landkreis Rotenburg (Wümme) is seeking a Social Pedagogical Specialist (m/w/d) for the Youth Welfare Office, specifically for the General Social Services department in Bremervörde. This position is available immediately or at the earliest possible date.
About the Youth Welfare Office:
The Youth Welfare Office is part of the Social Services Department and comprises approximately 130 employees. The General Social Services department, with 26 specialists across three locations, is part of a larger team of approximately 40 specialists in five units, focusing on the well-being of young people and their families.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Every young person has the right to development and education towards an independent personality. You will play a crucial role in advising, supporting, and guiding individuals through this process, collaborating with various partners.
Key Tasks:
- Advising Parents and Guardians: Provide guidance to (expectant) parents and guardians in fulfilling their parental responsibilities, actively involving young people in the process.
- Needs Assessment and Support: Identify the support needs of children, adolescents, their legal guardians, and young adults. Initiate and manage appropriate support measures based on SGB VIII (Social Code Book VIII).
- Child Protection: Exercise the state's guardianship role to ensure the protection of minors. Investigate any significant indications of child endangerment and initiate necessary protective measures.
- Family Court Proceedings: Prepare socio-pedagogical statements and participate in court hearings as part of the involvement in family court proceedings.
Your Profile:
- Educational Background: A degree (Diplom/FH, Bachelor, or Master) as a state-recognized social worker (m/w/d), social pedagogue (m/w/d), or curative educator (m/w/d).
- Alternatively, a degree in pedagogy (Diplom-Pädagoge m/w/d) or a completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in educational sciences, childhood education, or psychology, coupled with at least two years of professional experience in various socio-pedagogical fields.
- Graduates nearing completion (approx. 7 months) of a social work or social pedagogy degree, including state recognition, are also encouraged to apply, with the possibility of seamless transition into employment.
- Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of SGB VIII / KJSG (State Youth Welfare Law), FamFG (Code of Civil Procedure), and KKG (Protection of Young Persons Act).
- Interpersonal Skills: Empathy for individuals from diverse backgrounds and with complex challenges. Ability to support individuals in developing their unique strengths.
- Teamwork and Independence: Capacity to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and with other services and cooperation partners.
- Responsibility: Understanding the significance and scope of responsibilities within the General Social Services and willingness to assume accountability.
- Driving License: A valid Class B driving license is required for external appointments.

Position Details:
- Classification: According to Pay Group S 14 TVöD.
