About the Role

The LEW Verteilnetz GmbH operates as the regional distribution network operator, ensuring the safe operation of our approximately 36,000-kilometer electricity grid. We are driving the significant transformation and expansion of the electricity distribution network with substantial investments and innovative solutions, paving the way for a climate-friendly energy future in our region. Our team is responsible for standardization in the medium/low voltage (MS/NS) and street lighting sectors. Additionally, we plan and commission maintenance measures and analyze technical risks. Furthermore, our team supports asset management in budget and network planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, analyzing, and optimizing renewal, restructuring, and maintenance measures in the MS/NS network and street lighting. This includes analyses of operating equipment and network conditions, risk assessment of construction methods and components, lighting calculations, mast load capacities, structural integrity checks, and managing the general light bulb replacement.
  • Standardizing materials and construction methods, and consistently implementing them in the network. This ranges from selecting and maintaining master data (e.g., masts, cable systems, luminaires), forecasts, and material orders, handling complaints, to monitoring new technologies and innovations in the market.
  • Developing technical guidelines, specifications, and special solutions for our construction methods and operating equipment, and ensuring their currency, practicality, and implementation. This involves considering standards, legal changes, internal standards, and both sustainable and future-proof technical concepts.
  • Representing LEW Verteilnetz GmbH in the Projectteam Streetlighting, in technical committees, and group-wide working groups. Serving as the central internal contact for technical inquiries regarding street lighting, material standards, new technologies, and construction methods.
  • Supporting the further development of products and services in the street lighting sector for municipalities and customers (e.g., renewal or energy-saving measures), and documenting/structuring relevant information in our systems.

Qualifications

  • You are an engineer, preferably with a focus on electrical or energy engineering.
  • Ideally, you have experience in the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of 1kV and 20kV power supply networks. You can also quickly and independently familiarize yourself with diverse tasks and issues (legal, technical, economic).
  • You are proficient in MS Office, ideally have experience with SAP, and are eager to learn new IT programs.
  • You understand complex interrelationships, think analytically, and consistently find suitable solutions in a changing environment.
  • You enjoy teamwork and take on the role of initiator and driver, always keeping economic efficiency in mind.
